DifferencesbetweenGetSmart,Again!andTheNudeBomb
Thefilmisnotaswellknownastheearliertheatricalrelease,TheNudeBomb,alsobasedonGetSmart,butwasbetterreceivedbyfansoftheoriginalprogram.UnlikeTheNudeBomb,whichfeaturedonlythecharactersofSmart,TheChief(withDanaElcarreplacingthedeceasedEdwardPlatt),Agent13(DaveKetchumintheseries,portrayedbyJoeyFormaninTheNudeBomb,whohadplayedthecharacterHarryHoointheseries)andLarrabee,GetSmart,Again!featuredallofthesurvivingoriginalcastreprisingtheirroles.ThetoneandfeelofGetSmart,Again!werealsoclosertothatoftheoriginalseries.GetSmart,Again!waswrittenandproducedbyLeonardStern,whowasaproduceroftheoriginalseries.OneelementoftheNudeBombignoredcompletelywastherenamingofCONTROLasPITSintheearlierfilm;althoughasCONTROLissaidtohavedisbandedinthe1970s,it'snotimpossibleforbothCONTROLandPITStoexistwithinthecontinuityofthefranchise.

Synopsis
MaxwellSmart,actingasaprotocolofficersinceCONTROLwasdisbandedintheearly1970s,isreactivatedasacounterintelligenceagentbyCommanderDrury(KennethMars)oftheUnitedStatesIntelligenceAgency.KAOS,longconsidereddefunct,hasbeenrevitalizedbyacorporatetakeover.ItsfirstschemeinvolvesturningaforgottenAmericanscientistandusinghisweathercontrolmachinetoextort$250billionUSdollarsfromtheUnitedStatesGovernment.Drury,convincedthatonlySmarthastheexpertisetocombatKAOS,giveshimcarteblanchetoreactivateformerCONTROLagentstoassisthiminhistask.AlongwithDrury'sbumblingaide,Beamish(SteveLevitt),SmartrecruitsLarrabee(who,believingthathewasunderordersfromRichardNixontostayathispostuntilrelieved,hasbeenlivinginhisofficeinthenow-abandonedCONTROLheadquarterstendinghisofficeplants),Agent13,HymietheRobot(nowemployedasacrashtestdummy)andultimately,hiswife99(BarbaraFeldon)tofindthesecurityleakthatallowedthescientisttodefect,locatetheweathermachineanddisarmit.TheyareopposedbyKAOSmoleswithintheUSIA,whoareabletopredictMax'severymovewiththeaidofstolencopiesof99'sunpublishedmemoirs.ThevisibleheadoftheKAOSschemeisrevealedtobeMax'soldnemesis,Siegfried,butheismerelytheagentofahigherexecutivewhomevenhehasnevermet.ThishigherpowerisfinallyrevealedasNicholasDemente(HaroldGould),99'spublisher,whointendsnotonlytoextortthemoneybutalsotocreateweatherthatwillkeeppeopleeternallyindoorsandinterferewithtelevisionreception,forcingmillionstoentertainthemselvesbybuyingDemente'sbooksandpublications.

ThescriptislitteredwithtypicalMaxwellSmartverbalgags,andlargeportionsoftheplotserveonlyassetupsforGetSmart!-stylesightgags(suchasaduelbetweenMaxandaKAOShitmanusingremotecontrolledfilecabinetdrawers).Thefilmalsofeaturesthearrayofbizarregadgetryandpoliticalsatirethatwerehallmarksoftheoriginalseries.Theconeofsilencehasbeensupersededby"HoverCover"whereameetingisheldonarooftopwiththreehelicoptershoveringoverhead.ThefailureofHoverCoverleadstothedevelopmentof"TheHallOfHush",asoundproofroomwherewordsprintoutsilentlyinmidair,asuccessatfirstuntilthewordsbegintoprintforward,backwardandontopofeachother.

1995revival
